FARAS
A GLOBAL ARCHIVE OF HORSE CULTURE
The horse is a mirror of civilisation.
FARAS follows global horse cultures, from Africa to Mongolia, from mountain plateaus to desert trade routes.
Through field research, dialogue with local communities and photographic documentary, FARAS unfolds across regions where the horse remains embedded in daily life. Through writing, photography and art, it explores the enduring relationship between horses and humans across the world.
FARAS is developed with the intention of exhibition, publication and long term cultural preservation.
CHAPTERS
Starting in Africa, FARAS follows horse cultures across the continent, from Lesotho to Ethiopia, Nigeria to the Sahel.
In each place, FARAS is an ongoing conversation, observing and documenting but also fully immersed in the field, riding with the horsemen and shooting from the saddle.
